Jacques van Buuren – Executive Chairman
Jacques achieved a BSc Construction Management degree in 1994, with vast experience in the development and construction management industry.
A Scientist at heart and inspired to study the creation, the earth, and its original environment, and why people lived for hundreds of years intrigued him to find solutions and research why plants grew bigger with superior fruit bearing. In 2009, he started researching the influence gravity has on plants, how light affects plants, diseases, optimal air intake by the plants, the micro and macro environment of plants – giving plants WHAT, WHERE and WHEN it wants it!
Thousands of hours went into this research, and is still being done. The ongoing climate changes experienced by plants, prompted me to develop a system where most of the external and internal environment can be controlled to produce healthy plants at lower production costs, resulting in higher yields without using Genetically Modification or harmful chemicals
Jacques soon realized he was onto something which was not documented or being used in practice. A trial and test approach was followed, where they had breakthrough to unique methods and technology not known to the traditional hydroponic or agricultural world. This technology, methodology and formulas have been provisionally patented under a company called EDEN GREEN HYDROPONICS INTERNATIONAL, of which Jacques is a co-inventor, major shareholder and director.
